Every couple deserves to have a ceremony to remember
the rest of their lives.

Don't be burdened with the added cost of the ceremony
also.

There are many ways to save money with the ceremony.
At Hudson Valley Ceremonies we are here to help that
happen.  One way we can suggest is to eliminate the
rehearsal.  We are not saying this is the right thing for
every ceremony or couple.  For instance if you are
planning less than 8 people in the wedding party this can
be organized the day of the wedding.

With our Tulip or Rose Package the cost can stay below
$250 and you still have a ceremony coordinator.  They
will organize the wedding party the day of and make it
seem as though you practiced a dozen times.

With no rehearsal you have also saved hundreds of
dollars by not hosting a rehearsal party.  The average
cost of a rehearsal party is $800.  Use this saved money
to splurge on a photographer, favors, or a honeymoon.
(Please don't hesitate to contact
Rev Jeanne and ask
about a hardship discount)

Other great ways to save money when you are on a
budget:

  • Use wildflowers for your bouquets instead of roses,
this will lower your flower budget by almost half
    (and they last longer)

  • Purchase slippers instead of regular bridal shoes
this will be half the cost (easier on your feet too!!)

  • Print your own invitations, again half the cost, more
control with the look and wording, make it a day
with the girls and get their help.

  • Consider having a Sunday or even a week day
wedding.  Some wedding venues or restaurants will
give you 50% off the per plate cost and some even
waive the facility or ceremony fee.

  • Decorating:  If having an evening ceremony and you
are planning ahead, consider white christmas
lights.  Buy them after the holidays and sometimes
you can get them for 75% off.

  • Family and friends can be very talented, check if
anyone in the family is a seamstress and have them
alter the dress (save $150).  Or does anyone do
ceramics, pottery or arts and crafts, have them make
    the center pieces and/or favors.

  • Don't be afraid to ask a wedding vendor for a
competitive price.  Explain that you were quoted a
price and see if they will match it with a lower price.

  • Want a more elegant wedding but you are afraid
you will offend family or friends by not inviting
them.  Again plan a week day wedding, only 60% of
guests will be able to make it.

  • Consider Sterling Silver for your wedding bands
(25% of the cost of gold)

  • Consider Online Invitations with paper invites as a
back up.  Some guests would appreciate being able
to RSVP online instead of forgetting to mail in the
RSVP.  This is not considered tacky anymore but a
more modern way of getting guests the directions
    and to answer questions.

  • Hire the photographer for only the ceremony and
ask guests or relatives to take pictures of the
    reception (save $1,000)

  • Do you really need to have a limo?

  • Consider a buffet instead of sit down, you can save
    50%
